Cast On Knit-A-Swatch

Even though I’m a process knitter, I have to admit I still dislike swatching for my projects. Early on in my knitting journey, I would skip the swatch and jump straight into casting on. Of course, this led to many failed projects, usually because I chose the wrong yarn combinations or couldn’t match the gauge as suggested in the pattern.

At Cast On Yarn Shop, I’ve gathered a selection of beautiful yarns to help you create the perfect swatch for your hand-knit project.

Remember, knitting is a mindful and rewarding process—each stitch is a step toward something uniquely yours. Knit with intention, and enjoy the journey!

How does it work? (This service is only available in-store)

If you already have a pattern in mind, check on the yarn weight requirement and pick your choice of yarn from the available yarns and colourways for swatching. Or if you only want to try out some new-to-you yarns.

Select from the range of needles available to knit your swatch. You can try out something new or bring your own.

Once the swatch is done, we will do the final step of steam blocking before checking your knitting guage.

The tools you'll use are available brand new for purchase, feel free to ask about them!
